Hi everyone!
It’s Woop and Wob and today, we will continue our trip report with a review of the United Club at Chicago O’Hare Airport!
Please note that this review was from our trip in November 2019. The experience may be very different nowadays.
Below is the itinerary of the entire trip and we will be posting these posts as they’re ready.

Access
There are several ways to access the United Club. You can access this lounge in one of the following ways:
- be a star alliance gold member (+1 guest)
- have a United Club credit card that grants access to these clubs
- have a United Club pass
We had access to the United Club because Wob is an ANA Platinum Status holder, which grants to Star Alliance Gold. In addition to lounge access to Star Alliance lounges around the world, we also get many additional benefits such as priority boarding, priority baggage, and priority check-in counters.
Average at Best
The United Lounge that we visited was near our gate, which was gate B16. This club was underground so after entry, we took an escalator downstairs. The one drawback of having a lounge downstairs is the fact that the ceilings are low and there is limited natural light. They frosted the glass so you can’t even look outside (although, you’d only see operations and baggage handling cars). This lounge is vastly different from the one in LGA in a bad way, unfortunately. :(
The food choices were also limited. As you see in the photo above, that is the variety of food that they served. They just had “golden” broccoli soup (which is just cheese soup), hummus with vegetables, brownies, cheese cubes, and crackers. There’s also some candy on the side, like M&M’s and Mike and Ike.
Other amenities
There are a few other amenities that are in the lounge as well. If you need to work, there are several quiet rooms that you can go in and work on your laptop in peace, but you could still hear noise from outside. In addition, if you need help with your tickets, there are several service desks as well.
Final Thoughts
The United Club in Chicago O’Hare Airport was mediocre at best. It is better than waiting at the overcrowded gate area, but we would definitely not want to spend our hard earned cash for a visit using a United Pass.
Next up on your trip is the flight from Chicago to Tokyo! It’s also on a Star Wars BB8 plane too!!! We hope you’ll join us again!
Here’s a preview picture of the interior!
Have a great day everyone!!
