Hi, it’s Woop and Wob and today, we’re reviewing our experiences at the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge Lounge and the Thai Airways Lounge in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). The Singapore Airlines Lounge is by far the best lounge we’ve ever experienced in Bangkok’s main airport. It is actually better than all of the Priority Pass lounges that we’ve been to and it also surpasses the Thai Airways Lounge.
Checkin
Our flight was departing Bangkok at 12:20AM, so we arrived at the airport at around 9PM to check in. Since there were several ANA flights departing Bangkok in the evenings (with the first one departing at 9:45PM), the check-in counters were open when we arrived. Since the counters were open for several hours already, there were no lines at all. We quickly went through the business line and received our boarding passes.
In addition to the boarding pass, we received a lounge invitation for one of the following lounges: Thai Airways, EVA, or Miracle Lounge. We also received a fast track pass to speed through security and immigration. The line is in the first floor rather than going up the escalator to go through security and coming back downstairs to go through immigration.
If you’re not flying business class, you can also potentially buy a fast track from some online vendors or if you’re eligible. For ANA flights, you can find your eligibility here: https://www.ana.co.jp/en/us/international/departure/airport/map/bkk.html
Lounge Access
Although we received a pass to go to either the Thai Airways, EVA, or Miracle lounges, we can also access any other star alliance lounges with our business class ticket. We decided to go to the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge Lounge in the airport because the food is amazing!
Singapore Airlines Lounge in BKK
The lounge is open from 6:30AM to 11PM. Since our flight departs at 12:20AM, we would have to leave at 11PM and go to another lounge.
There is delicious food in this lounge! Below are pictures of the goodness of cuisine that awaited us! First off, the drinks. Here, we see water bottles and soda cans, but also vegetable juice on the top right corner and also coconut juice! The coconut juice is even left inside the coconut shell for a more authentic experience.
After grabbing our drinks, we went over to the main dishes and appetizers. Of course, we start with dessert! There was a variety of Thai desserts.
And now, for the main courses! With a mixture of Thai cuisine and western cuisine, you will surely find something that will satisfy your appetite.
And finally, we had Haagen-Dazs ice cream for dessert. A great way to end our feast. Here is a photo of our first serving. Woop grabbed a fanta orange soda while Wob got the coconut juice. We also got two Kuih Lapis, chicken rice, and pad thai.
Thai Airways Lounge
The Singapore Airlines lounge was amazing, but unfortunately, it closed at 11PM. Our flight was at 12:29AM, so we had to leave the lounge so we went to the Thai Airways Lounge. There were food there as well, but the food in the Singapore Airlines lounge was better in our opinions. Also, we were quite full from dinner before, so we couldn’t really get more food.
Summary
Overall, the Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge had amazing food and had very modern furniture! It truly was a home away from home. Too bad they closed at 11PM, but we were able to head to the Thai Airways lounge and get some more dessert. The Thai Airways lounge was also quite dark, but at least it helped us get in the mood to sleep as we were taking an overnight flight from Bangkok to Tokyo.
In our next post, we’ll review our ANA Business Class flight from BKK to NRT. Stay tuned!
